ALBANY - The Senate gave final passage Monday to a bill designed to take a bite out of the wallets of those who don't clean up after their dogs.
The legislation, which previously passed the Assembly, increases the maximum penalty to $250 - from the current $100 max.
The city has long advocated for the increase, noting the fine hasn't changed since the pooper-scooper law was enacted three decades ago.
The city has been pushing for the increase as it boosts enforcement of the law.
